Welcome to my online weight loss journal. I am on a program called Lean for Life. I started my journey on January 20, 2004 weighing over 363. I use this journal to post my successes, struggles, and trials . I hope that I motivate, inspire and encourage others in the process. I post once a week so come back and see how I am doing.

I always get inspired to keep trying to lose the buldge every time I leave your site.

My first phone session with Lean for Life coach was very beneficial. I said last week I was going to try a fiber supplement. After talking that over with the LFL coach, I realized it how much of a blessing those calls were. I talked to her about my health concerns and she was very knowledgeable in that area. She suggested a clear non bulking fiber supplement. I would not have known to get that kind. On the modified protein days, she suggested I eat a green cooked veggie serving instead of the fruit. I know I was choosing fruit because I love my fruit especially this time of year, but the green veggie makes sense – more fiber. The other thing she suggested was to skip my dinner fruit and double my veggie servings at dinner on the regular menu days - once again taking my fruit from me. I am willing to give it a try to see if I can get out of this 192-197 range.
pasta salad, salsa made with tomatoes, onions and of course sugar (who puts sugar in salsa
), oh and about 4 different cakes.
As you can see no low carb friendly food. Saturday there was so much food I think I gained from just looking at it.
Besides the meat (ribs and chicken) which I made sure they didn't pour sauce over all, there was chicken spaghetti, corn, greens, green beans, dressing, coleslaw, homemade rolls, some other stuff I didn't even look at it and for dessert - peach cobbler and banana pudding. My meal consisted of ribs, chicken, greens and green beans. Portions were oversized (it was way past 12 when we started serving and I was hungry), but all and all I think I did well with my eating. I definitely went through the environmental cravings. I started craving something sweet. The only thing I could eat was the sugar free jello I brought with me.
Favorite moment from reunion came from my great aunt who hasn’t seen me since summer 04 at the last reunion. I was standing talking with my sister, my dad and my great aunt. She asked my dad where his other daughter was. I thought she was talking about my other sister who is deceased. I responded you know there are only two of us now. She said no I’m talking about the heavy set one that was at the reunion in
She had been talking to me all night long. I even served her grilled fish.
Weigh in - 195 down 2. It would have been better if not for the overindulgence over the weekend. I must say whatever is going on with my weight I love my clothes shopping experiences these days. Yesterday I took the kids clothes shopping for camp. I have seen people wearing the cutest skirts that look like there are made from bandana material with sequins and beads. I found the cutest green and white one with silver size large and too cute. I also bought size 34 men’s shorts. The last time I bought men’s jeans I got a 36 and 38.) Regardless of my "weight in number" this week I am also extremely proud of myself for overcoming many challenges this weekend. I think that is the most I have been around that much food and a long time.
Exercise this week was very great. I took some exercise tapes with me so I could exercise while away from home. Friday night I did Walk and Kick. One of the recommendations of the Lean for Life coach was to do long distant exercise one day a week – to push myself further than usual. Since I have been doing the walk/jog routine on Saturdays for 3 miles, I thought I would increase that to 4 miles. I was out of town Saturday for the reunion so I had to improvise. I walked around a parking lot near my sister’s house so I wasn’t sure of the distance. The 3 miles usually take me around 46-47 minutes so I walked/jogged for 62 minutes.
Hey thank you for stopping by and for the wonderful comments!
I am proud of you with your eating!!
